The Sky’s Darling

twilight

The darkness walks stealthily,

After the twilight says ciaos.

Then, the sky’s radiant smile,

Gets fanned slyly and slowly.

The time shiny stars pitch in,

That soothes the sky’s sense.

It ushers him to the dreamland,

Filled with gloom and ecstasy.

What a beautiful harmony,

The point of entry and exit?

The dark night welcomes,

The shiny stars and moon,

Before exiting from the sky.

In the brilliance of the sky,

The darkness hesitates to go,

Throwing its silly tantrums,

Stomping its foot foolishly.

The darkness’s sole motive,

To spend a night with the sky,

Gets shattered in a moment,

Uncertain to shift even a bit,

From its companion of years.

Does the night sky illume,

To unfurl its timeless fire,

Pushing his tears at bay,

Through stars and moon,

Dispelling the dark night?

The darkness drags its feet,

Overpowered by brightness,

With the audacity of the moon,

And the universe of luminaries.

The sky seeks forgiveness,

For his absurd stillness,

Meant for dark and begs,

To stay with him forever?

Does the darkness oblige,

Jumping for a tempting union,

That one-time association,

When the moon disappears,

Or with clouds obstruction?

The divine power of the moon,

Does it soothe the night sky?

Even with the sparkling stars,

Does the sky still crave,

For the company of the dark?

The sky recalls the dreams,

Full of sweet and sour images,

The time spent in darkness,

Even if once on a new moon night.

Is the sky being dark at night,

A paradox to acknowledge?

Or a curtain to mask the fact,

Covering the clandestine affair,

Between the sky and the dark?

Whatever it is marked:

It is the union of two souls,

Facing each one for a night,

The night sky and darkness.

So, who is the sky’s darling:

The mystifying darkness,

The vivacious shiny stars,

Or the gorgeous moon?
